Dr. James O'Malley - B.Sc., Doctor of Chiropractic

Dr. James O'Malley graduated from Palmer University in America as a Doctor of Chiropractic and successfully passed all parts of the American Board Examinations. He then went on to complete the UK's General Chiropractic Council Test of Competence. He also holds a Bachelor in Biomedical Science from Northumbria University, England.

Dr. O'Malley decided to become a chiropractor after he sustained a lower back disc injury while playing professional rugby for the Newcastle Falcons. His injury was so severe that he needed surgery, but afterwards he attended a chiropractor to aid in his rehabilitation. The results were so successful that he was able to return to rugby and he later received a rugby scholarship to Palmer University in America where he completed his Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Because of his personal experience, Dr. O'Malley has a keen interest in disc injuries and he studied post-graduate courses in Flexion-Distraction protocols which are designed specifically for treating "slipped", herniated, or bulging discs. A specially designed couch is used to help relieve the pressure on injured discs and with treatment many patients have been able to avoid surgery.

Dr. O'Malley is also a member of the United Chiropractic Association (UCA) and Chiropractic Northern Ireland (chiroNI).
